For people with limited time, the Kathmandu Pokhara tour is the perfect Nepal tour. The journey could be made to last four days or longer. Detailed Itinaries

DAY 1

Arrival at Kathmandu airport transfer to hotel

When you arrive in Kathmandu, a representative from our Go Nepal Travel Tours and Treks Pvt. Ltd. and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel where you will check-in for the day. After checking in at the hotel, you can refresh yourself and relax. The night on this day will be spent in Kathmandu.

DAY 2

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

On Day 2 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Tour, early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will begin our drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This beautiful journey takes about 6–7 hours, providing us glimpses of lush green hills, rivers, traditional villages, and terraced fields along the way. Pokhara, which is many times called the adventure capital of Nepal, is a lively city nestled beside the peaceful Phewa Lake, surrounded by stunning views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountain peaks. It is a central point for trekkers, adventure seekers, and nature lovers, providing everything from boating and paragliding to exploring caves and waterfalls. Upon arrival, you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and prepare for the adventure tomorrow. The night on this day will be spent in Pokhara.

Day 2 - Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
DAY 3

Drive from Pokhara to Sarangkot then Back to Hotel in Pokhara

On Day 3 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Tour, after having breakfast, we will begin our sightseeing tour around Pokhara Valley, visiting some of its most famous attractions. Our day starts with an early morning drive to Sarangkot, which is a popular viewpoint known for providing breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. For adventure lovers, Sarangkot also provides the exciting opportunity to do paragliding adventure sport, soaring high above in the sky, it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After returning and having lunch, we continue on our adventure by visiting several popular places. We visit the Seti River Gorge, where the river has carved a deep, narrow canyon through the rocks. Next, we then go to visit the International Mountain Museum, which shows the rich history of Himalayan culture. We will also explore Bindabasini Temple, which is one of the oldest and most important temples in Pokhara, that is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. The tour then also continues to Gupteshwor Cave, which is a mysterious limestone cave that attracts many visitors daily to explore, and there is the nearby Davis Falls which we will also checkout, it is a stunning waterfall that is known for its underground tunnel. After a full day of fun, exciting and memorable sightseeing, we will return back to our hotel for an overnight stay in Pokhara.

 

Day 3 - Drive from Pokhara to Sarangkot then Back to Hotel in Pokhara
DAY 4

Drive Back to Kathmandu from Pokhara

On Day 4 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Tour, early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will set out for our drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Along the drive we will get to see the beautiful views of rivers, terraced fields, and traditional villages. After reaching Kathmandu, we can spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel or if you feel energetic enough, you can also explore Thamel Bazaar, which is a lively tourist place that is famous for shopping, local handicrafts, souvenirs, restaurants, and lively street life. Enjoy your free time at your own pace before spending the night at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 4 - Drive Back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
DAY 5

Full Day Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

On Day 5 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Tour, our Go Nepal representatives will guide you on a full-day sightseeing tour through Kathmandu's rich historical and cultural places. You will start with a visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa, a stupa that is also famously known as the Monkey Temple, this stupa is on a hilltop that provides overall views of the Kathmandu Valley, truly a sight to see for sure. It is one of the oldest and most important religious sites for both Buddhists and Hindus.
Next, you will explore Patan Durbar Square, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning collection of old palaces, courtyards, and beautifully designed temples, showing the unique Newari architecture.
Afterward, the tour continues to Pashupatinath Temple, which is Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River, where you can witness rituals and cremation ceremonies.
Finally, you will then visit the grand Boudhanath Stupa, which is one of the largest stupas in the world, this stupa is surrounded by Tibetan monasteries, prayer flags, and local shops. It is an important place for Tibetan Buddhism and provides a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.
After visiting all these culturally rich places, you will then be transferred back to your hotel for an evening of leisure where you can either rest up or go souvenir shopping. The night on this day will be spent in Kathmandu.

Day 5 - Full Day Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
DAY 6

Free day for shopping and departure to the next destination

Day 6 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara Tour is unfortunately our final day as our exciting, and eventful adventure in Nepal ends today. A representative from our Go Nepal Travel Treks and Tours Pvt. Ltd. will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport a few hours before the scheduled flight.

Day 6 - Free day for shopping and departure to the next destination

Useful Information

  1. Kathmandu stands at an elevation of 1324m above the sea level, which is the 17th highest capital in the world 
  2. Pokhara is at 822m from the sea level. 
  3. Kathmandu has mild climate most of the year and a subtropical climate, warm and temperate zone.
  4. Pokhara has about 25 to 35 degrees in summer and around -2 to 15 degrees in winter. 
  5. Pokhara has a humid subtropical climate but it keeps moderate temperature. 
  6. The Newar community is the oldest inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley, and has one of Nepal’s richest cultures and follows both Hinduism and Buddhism.
  7. Gurungs, Magars and Newars are the largest group living in Pokhara. But Tibetan refugees are also another group living in the city who came to the area to escape precaution in their homeland. 
  8. Samay Baji is the signature dish of Newar culture which includes several items. Rice, Dal Bhat, Ghundruk, Dhendo are the other foods available in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
