Kathmandu Valley is the cultural and historical center of Nepal. It covers an area of 257 square miles and is home to over 130 important monuments, many of which are grouped into seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The valley is full of old temples, old palaces, and neighborhoods. The Newar people, who are the original residents of the valley, still celebrate their unique festivals and follow their centuries-old customs and traditions. Walking through the backstreets of Kathmandu, you’ll find a mix of history, religion, art, and daily life all happening side by side.
A visit to Nagarkot is a perfect short trip from Kathmandu. Located 32 kilometers to the east and sitting at an altitude of 2,175 meters, Nagarkot is a peaceful hill station that is known for its beautiful sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. On clear days, you can also get to see many famous mountain ranges, including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Gaurishankar. Surrounded by pine forests and quiet villages, Nagarkot provides a relaxing break from the busy city life. You can also enjoy great views of the Indravati River valley and the Kathmandu Valley from the top of the Nagarkot viewing tower. It’s a great place for travelers who want to experience both natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.

When you arrive in Kathmandu, our representative from Go Nepal Travel Tours and Treks Pvt. Ltd. and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel. The representative will then assist you in checking in at your hotel. After lunch, you are free to explore Thamel Market on your own, and your evening dinner will be hosted by us Go Nepal Travel Tours and Treks Pvt. Ltd.. You will also be briefed on your daily activities during the tour at the hotel today. We will spend the night in a hotel in Kathmandu.
On Day 2 of our Kathmandu-Nagarkot-Tour, early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will go on a sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple and the Bouddhanath Stupa (both of which are protected by UNESCO as world heritage sites).
Pashupatinath Temple is the world's oldest and most sacred Hindu temple, located on the banks of Bagmati River. Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the world's largest and oldest stupas, and the surrounding area is also known as Little Tibet because it is densely populated by Tibetan refugees and home to one of the valley's largest Tibetan refugee camps. In the late afternoon, we can also visit Swayambhu and Patan Durbar Square, which are popular tourist destinations. We will spend the night in a hotel.
On Day 3 of our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Tour, early in the morning, after having breakfast, after having breakfast, we will go to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. From here, we will travel to Nagarkot (32 kilometers/1 hour) and stop in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which was founded in 889 AD and is located 13 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The famous "Fifty-five Windows Palace" can also be found in Bhaktapur's old palace square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square was the royal palace of the Malla kings in ancient times. The golden gate in this square is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece of Newari art. This ancient square is like a living museum of Hindu temples. The ancient royal bath, the courtyard of Taleju shrine, the museum of art and history, the pottery square, the majestic Nyatapola temple, the famous Peacock window, and the Dattatraya temple are also worth seeing.
When you arrive in Nagarkot, you’ll be welcomed by cool fresh air and a peaceful hilltop setting at the top. As evening approaches, you will also get to enjoy a stunning sunset view over the eastern Himalayan ranges. On clear days, the golden sunlight slowly touches the snowy peaks of mountains like Langtang, Gaurishankar, and even distant views of Everest, creating a truly magnificent sight to admire and take pictures of. It’s one of the best spots near Kathmandu to witness the natural beauty of the Himalayas in a quiet environment. We will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 4 of our Kathmandu-Nagarkot Tour is unfortunately our final day as our exciting, and eventful adventure in Nepal ends today. A representative from our Go Nepal Travel Treks and Tours Pvt. Ltd. will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport a few hours before the scheduled flight.
