There are also beautiful mountain villages, brilliant rhododendron forests, and  many types of ethnic groups and cultures to admire. Detailed Itinaries

DAY 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,428ft)

After landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative of our  Go Nepal Travel Tours and Treks Pvt.  who will drop you off at the hotel. After we check in the hotel, we refresh and rest for a while. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be organized with delicious Nepali cuisines. The night on this day will be spent in Kathmandu. 

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,428ft)
DAY 2

Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation

On day 2 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, we visit historic Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Bouddhanath Stupa, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Durbar Square is a historic place that reveals the life of royalty in the past. The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the monkey temple and the Boudhanath stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world, so every site is worth visiting. In the evening, we introduce ourselves to our fellow participants and discuss our trip for the next day. The night on this day will be spent in Kathmandu.

Day 2 - Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation
DAY 3

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (827m/2689ft): 5-6 hours

On day 3 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, after early breakfast in the morning, we then leave for Pokhara which is also known as the "City of the lake" due to the large number of lakes in the city. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we are greeted with the magnificent views of the Himalayas such as Dhaulagiri (8,167m / 26,794 feet), Manaslu (8,156m / 26,759 feet), Machhapuchhre (6,993m / 22,943 feet), also the five Annapurna peaks and others peaks. Then we check into our hotel and take a short break. We also go sailing on Fewa Lake. We enjoy sailing for some time and then stroll through the picturesque streets of the city. The night on this day will be spent in Pokhara. 

 

Day 3 - Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (827m/2689ft): 5-6 hours
DAY 4

Pokhara Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m/5052ft): 3-4 hours

On day 4 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, after breakfast, your trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill begins. We will do a one and half hour drive going through the large village of Lumle that takes you to Nayapul. The trek begins from here, descending first by a staircase then crossing the river by a wide path paved with stones leading to a big lively city, Birethanti (1000 m). The hiking then goes through bamboo forests and waterfalls with deep pools. The path then leads to a small village called Sudami where we will have a short break to have lunch. After lunch, we again continued our climb along the valley to reach Hille (1510 m). After a short walk, we will arrive at Tikhedhunga, where we will spend the night. 

Day 4 - Pokhara Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m/5052ft): 3-4 hours
DAY 5

Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2775m/9104ft): 4-6 hours

On day 5 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, after an early morning breakfast, we cross the Tikhedhunga River on a suspension bridge, then cross Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. We will then climb a steep staircase on the hill that has more than 3,300 steps. The difficult climb continues to the great Magar village of Ulleri (2080m). From Ulleri, the path climbs through pastures and cultivated fields. We walk alongside a lively river that goes through a serene forest of oaks and blooming rhododendrons, filling the air with a refreshing scent. The path goes through clear streams, climbs gently over a small ridge, and passes another shimmering brook before a short, steady ascent brings us to Nangathanti (2,460m). We rest up a little with lunch in Nangathanti. The day of destination is Ghorepani (2750 m) which we reach about one hour after Nangathanti. The night on this day will be spent in Ghorepani. 

 

Day 5 - Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2775m/9104ft): 4-6 hours
DAY 6

Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani (2540m/833ft): 5-6 hours

On day 6 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, we wake up before dawn to do a morning excursion of Poon Hill (3210 m) which provides one of the best views of the Himalayas in Nepal. The spectacular 360 views extends from Dhaulagiri I (8167 m) and Tukuche (6920 m) to Nilgiri (6940 m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091 m), Hiuchhuli (6441 m) and Tarke Kang (7193 m). Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m) and Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhre 6997m). Watching the beautiful sunrise is definitely a sight to behold. After breakfast, our trek to Tadapani begins. A short morning climb to the Deurali provides us the chance to see a spectacular view of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The path descends through the dense moss-covered forest with rich bird life till we reach Tadapani, which also provides us with a close-up view of the sunset. The night on this day will be spent at Tadapani.

 

Day 6 - Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani (2540m/833ft): 5-6 hours
DAY 7

Tadapani Trek to Ghandruk (1940m/6365ft): Trekking to Nayapul and drove to Pokhara

On day 7 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, today, the hiking trail quickly descends through the beautiful rhododendron forests to reach Baise Kharka. You will be able to spot monkeys playing around and different types of birds flying here and there. The road to the right makes a short and steep descent between the rocks to a stream and then crosses a ridge to reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the second largest village of Gurung in Nepal. 

You can explore the streets of this lively Gurung settlement and enjoy beautiful views of the southern Annapurna Mountains and Fishtail. After lunch in Ghandruk, we will go through the road that crosses small villages, rice terraces and forests that provide a very pleasant overview. We’ll follow Modi Khola River, which flows gently alongside us, providing a pleasant and scenic walk toward Birethanti. The path gradually descends along the stream, providing us with an easy and enjoyable final moment. From Nayapul, we’ll conclude our trek and drive back to Pokhara, taking in the last glimpses of the Himalayan foothills.The night on this day will be spent in Pokhara.

Day 7 - Tadapani Trek to Ghandruk (1940m/6365ft): Trekking to Nayapul and drove to Pokhara
DAY 8

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

On day 8 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, after breakfast, we bid our farewell to the beautiful Pokhara and head towards Kathmandu. The drive will be along the banks of the river with wonderful views of the terraced hills and the Nepali village. After arriving in Kathmandu, you can either take a peaceful relaxing break or do some souvenir shopping. To celebrate the successful completion of our trip, we will also have a farewell dinner at night. The night on this day will be spent in Kathmandu.

Day 8 - Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
DAY 9

Final departure

On day 9 of our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, our exciting trip in Nepal ends today. A representative from the Go Nepal Travels and Tours Pvt Ltd will drive you to the airport about three hours before the planned flight.
